The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) is proud to announce its second 2019 webinar featuring a presentation highlighting the honorable mention winners of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and IPEC Public Health Excellence in Interprofessional Education (IPE) Collaboration Award. The annual USPHS IPEC Award is a joint effort to recognize interprofessional health education teams that have significantly impacted the community through multidisciplinary collaboration on a program geared toward improving health knowledge, awareness, and behavior.
The webinar will highlight 2017 and 2018 honorable mention winners in the category of health communications and technology. While sharing their IPE projects, Telemedicine: Crossing Global Barriers to Health Education and Patient Care to Prevent Lower Extremity Amputation and Community Paramedicine, Drs. Robert Joseph and Victoria Reinhartz will identify different strategies utilizing health communication and information technology to improve interprofessional care team training.
Health professions faculty, students, and clinicians will discover best practices that they can use to assist with IPE efforts at their home institutions.

- Describe successful IPE strategies using health information technology to improve interprofessional care team communications at Rosalind Franklin University and at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)
- Explore the value of health communications strategies and health information technology to improving health outcomes and health care quality
- Analyze the outcomes presented in Rosalind Franklin鈥檚 and LECOM鈥檚 IPE projects for applicability at your home institution

Robert Joseph, DPM, PhD, FACFASChair PMR & Associate Professor of Podiatric Medicine & Radiology
Rosalind Franklin University Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine
Dr. Robert Joseph is a 1994 graduate of Washington University St. Louis and 2003 Graduate of Scholl College. His PhD research career began in connective tissue and matrix biochemistry where he received his PhD from Rush University. Since then, his research has focused on translational research and building interdisciplinary research teams that have included carbon engineers, biologists, physical therapists, health communication researchers and most recently global health experts from various medical and surgical specialties.
His most recent collaborations have expanded to lead an interprofessional collaboration in Haiti using telehealth to address health disparities and medical education. He continues to be active in basic science as well as clinical trials research through the Center for Lower Extremity Research (CLEAR) and by serving on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is an active leader and affiliate with various organizations including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the Tissue Regeneration and Engineering Center of Dayton, and the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Foot and Ankle Society.
Victoria Reinhartz, PharmDAssistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy
Dr. Victoria Reinhartz is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at LECOM鈥檚 School of Pharmacy-Bradenton. Dr. Reinhartz is LECOM alumnus, graduating with Bradenton鈥檚 inaugural pharmacy class of 2011. Her career and teaching focuses include Drug Information, Pharmacist Provided Care, Pharmacotherapeutics, Patient Counseling, Vaccines and Immunizations, Medication Therapy Management, and Pharmacy Management. Her current practice site is within the Manatee County Health Department, where she precepts students during their Ambulatory Care Rotations.

Dr. John Ressler has been involved with technology since his graduation as an undergraduate from the University of Florida. For most of his career he has worked in the financial industry adapting the use of technology to streamline business applications, documenting processes, and educating client partners. John joined the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2002 and was immediately drawn into the management of the college鈥檚 newly established distance education online Pharm.D. program. He participated in the growth of the program, as well as his own professional development by achieving a master鈥檚 degree in educational technology and a doctorate in distance education and instructional technology.
John鈥檚 research interest is in the application and effective use of technology in the clinical health care environment. The hobbies of this Tampa, FL native include scuba diving, travel, weight lifting, reading, and various forms of music.

Continuing Education Credits
Eligible attendees may receive one Certified in Public Health (CPH) continuing education credit or one continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hour for participating in this webinar. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (大象传媒) is an accredited CNE-provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center鈥檚 Commission on Accreditation. The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) works with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) to provide CPH credits.
