UWSP Nursing offers a RN to BSN Completion for an associate degree or diploma registered nurse and a pre-nursing option that can lead to the 1+2+1 Nursing Partnership where students earn both an Associates in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through a collaborative program of regional technical colleges and UWSP. UWSP Nursing is in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness which has 1200 students and offers 8 undergraduate majors, 8 graduate degree programs, and several certificate programs. This is a full-time academic year teaching academic staff position in nursing. The position is primarily responsible for teaching academic courses for nursing students enrolled in the UWSP RN to BSN Completion program and the University of Wisconsin Collaborative BSN@Home online program. Excellence in teaching, professional development, and service are required for retention and promotion. The successful candidate will also participate in activities related to maintaining Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation, work collaboratively with BSN@Home, engage in assessment and pursue curricular improvements, advise nursing students and prepare academic plans, engage in Nursing Program and School of Health Sciences and Wellness and university activities, participate in student recruitment efforts, and maintain RN licensure and appropriate membership in professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered nurse license in the State of Wisconsin or eligible to obtain Wisconsin nursing license by September 1, 2024. 
  • Doctorate of Nurse Practice (DNP) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree
  • Higher education teaching experiences in nursing. 
  • Online teaching experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years as an RN in a clinical setting. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Attentive to detail and strong record-keeping and data management skills. 
  • Demonstrated use of technology.
