University of West Georgia (UWG) seeks an innovative and visionary individual committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching, research, professional practice and service as its next Dean of the Tanner Health System School of Nursing (THSSON).
The THSSON educates more than 500 students each year who earn baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The caring science curriculum model is integrated into the THSSON curriculum framework. The THSSON's BSN, MSN, and Ed.D. programs prepare the clinicians, leaders, researchers, and educators ready to meet the health care needs of society for years to come. The traditional undergraduate program features an innovative concept-based curriculum, the RN to BSN program is a strong program dedicated to supporting nurses returning to school, and the graduate programs are recognized nationally for online instruction.
Reporting to the Provost, the Dean is the chief executive officer of the THSSON, responsible for all aspects of administration including strategic planning and vision, oversight and implementation of academic programs, and leading the THSSON in development activities.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution with at least one graduate degree in nursing and a record of achievement in teaching, research, and service which merits appointment as Professor within the THSSON. Demonstrated support for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate nursing education is essential.
