Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall administrative leadership for academic matters related to the Graduate Clinical Programs (e.g., MSN, DNP, post-master certificates) including new program development and approval; program quality; educational methods; national, regional and specialty accreditation; and policy development and implementation.
  • Foster a climate of academic excellence, collaboration and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Execute ongoing comprehensive assessment, planning and evaluation process of the graduate clinical programs to ensure they are linked to the SONHS mission, strategic goals, and objectives and consistent with SONHS policies, university policies, accreditation requirements, and other external regulatory bodies.
  • Provide leadership in the accreditation process, including oversight of self-studies and site visits and the preparation of all administrative reports bearing on graduate clinical programs.
  • Collaborate with the SONHS Associate Deans, Assistant Deans and Directors to design data collection instruments for use in conducting assessment surveys and in establishing school-wide goals and objectives.
  • Work with individual faculty members to develop and implement plans for teaching, research and service
  • Pursue scholarship and research activities, and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in community and academic service activities, maintaining relationship with existing partners and assisting in the development of new clinical partners.
  • Contribute to the guidance of students’ scholarly projects within courses and to the development of curriculum and course activities (e.g., course coordination, course evaluation materials, simulation development).
  • Adhere to the principles of academic governance (e.g., policies and procedures regarding promotion and tenure; policies and procedures for merit evaluations).
  • Work with the Dean to establish a plan for engaging with external constituencies.
  • Remain informed of new issues in the nursing/healthcare field.
  • Represent the School at professional meetings.
  • Work with the Dean and school leadership and Development Officer in fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or other Doctorate Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in clinical practice,
  • Experience with academic and clinical leadership,
  • A teaching portfolio in graduate nursing education that is compatible to the appointment at the Assoc or Full professor level
  • Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
